Tile Designs For Grand Junction At St Mary Magdalene, Paddington.

Two sets of tile designs were created from a series of printing workshops with local people for Grand Junction at St Mary Magdalene. The new building, which extends the Grade I listed church, was designed by Dow Jones Architects. Ceramic tiles for the café and bathrooms were inspired by the artwork of local children based on the ornate tiles within the highly decorated church interior. Ceramic tiles installed by the staircase were a result of workshops with local adults researching historical figures from the area.
The work was commissioned by Dow Jones Architects and Paddington Development Trust.
